Responsibility for the overall communication of Switzerland's largest folk festival represents a unique mandate in the PR industry. Visitors must be informed in advance and made aware of highlights and innovations. The communication measures for this must also be coordinated with authorities and public organisations. In addition, communication must be prepared for all conceivable emergencies in order to be able to react quickly in the corresponding case.
Especially for live communication, the social media channels of the Züri Fäscht are central. Not only to spread the festival atmosphere, but also to inform visitors quickly about the situation on site. In order to be able to use the channels adequately, furrehugi 2023 has allied itself with suitable partners: With FINNA, a young social media agency and with the influencer Lynn Delay, who promoted some of the numerous highlights of the Züri Fäscht in cheeky videos. At the same time, Lynn also explained drier topics such as the recycling concept, the Züri Fäscht app or reminded people to drink enough.
On behalf of the "Security and Traffic" department, furrerhugi monitored various social media channels throughout the festival and quickly informed all those responsible about developments. At the same time, visitors were regularly referred to the Züri Fäscht app, which played a central role in the Züri Fäscht security concept.
For the Züri Fäscht 2023, furrerhugi was able to agree on five media partnerships. The Tages-Anzeiger, 20 Minuten, Blick, Energy and TeleZüri/Radio 24 were among them. Thanks to the media partners, it was possible to communicate even better the diverse range of festivities as well as important messages regarding travel, road closures and prevention advice.
Already for the 2019 edition, furrerhugi dressed the festival in a new garb and provided a fresh look with a revised logo, a new key visual and a new website. For the Züri Fäscht 2023, furrerhugi worked with illustrator Jaron Gyger (illustration "Züri-Leu") and FHGR spin-off Chilyvent (animation) to revamp the key visual and the "Züri-Leu". With the skyline of Zurich and Lake Zurich, the 2023 key visual is based on the tradition of the Züri Fäscht as a lake festival. The "Züri-Leu" remains the central element in all communication. For this purpose, the illustration was refreshed and based on emoticons. The "Züri-Leu" can now not only roar, but also wink at visitors on the website and social media channels.
For the Züri Fäscht 2023, the programme booklet was replaced by a reduced Fäscht guide, which furrerhugi was commissioned to produce. In addition, furrerhugi designed posters, advertisements, lanyards and balloons.
