Mediation and Conflict Management

Working together for sustainable solutions: furrerhugi offers expertise and experience in mediation, conflict management, and negotiation, which are available to our clients – particularly in political contexts, but also in other areas. Beyond traditional mediation, these skills are integrated into our work in various ways, including conceptual design, moderating discussions, and representing positions to third parties.

Mediation is a voluntary, confidential process in which a specially trained third party, without decision-making authority, helps the parties involved to collaboratively develop an amicable solution to their conflict. Classical mediation follows a process consisting of six phases:

In so-called mediative action, methods and principles of mediation are applied without explicitly assuming the role of a mediator. This approach emphasizes an impartial stance, active listening, and focusing on shared interests rather than opposing positions, in line with the Harvard Negotiation Method.
